Photocubism

There's no better way to spend Activty Day other than tubing...
Here, you can enjoy the snow, have fun as you speed down the hill and enjoy the view at the same time!

Exercise # 5

Forget the traditional "dymo" labelling tool, or even those fancy sticker labels - all you need is Photoshop! By manipulating layers and images, you can put anything you want on almost everything you can find!

Excercise # 4

Gondola~
Using the saturated tool, and the magic of the wand tool, what started as a boring gondola scene was transformed into a breathtaking and calming scenery. The added touch of sunlight and clouds really does emphasize the exoticism of Venetian architecture and history.

Excercise # 3

Mr. Melon Man ~ Talk about food fight! Just as you would throw food at other people, by Using Photoshop Elements, different pieces of food were put together to create Mr. Melon! Hmm.. if only every food fight could create pieces like this instead of a mess!
***
The tools such as magnetic lasso and eliptical tool were used to isolate different parts of the food.
Also, by layering the parts, you could simply move things around and make sure that Mr. Melon looks his best.

What is media?

Media is the form of transmission of an idea.
It is used to project a thought you have so others can interpret it.
It comes in different forms.
Media includes television, movies, advertisements, magazines and more.
In my point, media is the source of all art.
WIthout media, art would not be transmitted and thus, it would be limited to it's creator.
A world without media would be a dull world.
We'd live, breath and interact with each other, but we wouldn't have a sense of creativity.
We would not be provided with inspirations to express ourselves.
Thank God for media, otherwise, I wouldn't be in this class!

Excercise # 2

COLLAGE
The gradient tool makes any collage look surreal and even more appealing. This collage made using Photoshop Elements is a combination of a few different objects and yet, it is unified into one. It emphasizes the wonder one can do with programs such as Photoshop - a collage made with different pictures ( that may or may not relate with each other) can look good together.

What is art?

According to Britannica Online, art is the "use of skill and imagination in the creation of aesthetic objects, environments, or experiences that can be shared with others."

Personally, I think of art as a way to express oneself. You can't really explain the meaning of art because even though you can show people what you've created, it does not accurately reflect how the artist felt when they created their piece. They may imagine or somewhat understand the motive behind your creation, however, since art is ultimately the expression of oneself, I think that art cannot be fully understood by others. Unless you explain in detail your inspirations, how your ideas come to be and such, the art that a person creates is ultimately only understood by its creator. Just as kids create art of their own, adults do not really have a full insight as to what the children creates, even so, they appreciate it. Art can be appreciated without knowing the story behind it, but personally, I think that it is this aspect that makes art such a strong way to express oneself. It visually excites and can tell a great tale. This is my definition of art, but

Excercise # 1

This is what we did in day 1.
Pretty creative, no?
What started as an "ugly doll" turned into the "MEDIA ARTS doll."
The class took turn adding their own creative element to the picture.
Although it didn't turn out the way I had planned it in my mind,
I guess it really showcases the creative minds in the class.
Like come on, the dog is rocking pink/green hair!
